Elementary School Artists from Increase Miller and Lewisboro Elementary Exhibit at the Katonah Museum of Art
Inspired by viewing, discussing and writing about the recent Katonah Museum of Art exhibition, “Bold, Cautious, True: Walt Whitman and the American Art of the Civil War Era,” fifth grade student artists at Increase Miller Elementary School became “’I’ Witnesses to History,” creating their own interpretations of important events and figures of the American past. Fourth grade students from Lewisboro Elementary School took the perspective of “the artist as journalist,” creating mixed media paintings that reflected their worlds “since the day each was born.” They investigated their worlds - from the personal to the communal – to mine the objects and images that would serve as the raw materials for their work. The students’ art will be exhibited from Sunday, February 7 through February 14, 2010.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff:
RE: Health Notice Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA)
Recently, we have had three confirmed cases of MRSA in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District. More cases may occur. We need to recognize that MRSA is present in our community, as it is in most communities. We need to remain diligent in our efforts to prevent MRSA infections, particularly in light of the serious nature of the combination of a MRSA infection and H1N1 influenza.
