The beautiful and moving Commencement ceremony at Caramoor was as one-of-a-kind as the stand-out class it celebrated!
The Notables, The Treble Makers, and Vocal Jazz set the stage for a memorable evening.
Principal Steven Siciliano recognized the soon-to-be graduates’ many accomplishments and looked forward with them to all that awaits.
Valedictorian Dakota Cameron offered the challenge: “You can, but will you?” to her classmates. Salutatorian Kate Stevens reflected the character of her class: “smart, kind, creative, passionate people who are ready to take on the world.”
The Key of Knowledge, and its new charm—a head of broccoli, which honored the Class of 2025’s legacy of sustainability, including Meatless Monday—was presented by Quincy Hadlock and Max Wasserman.
Faculty Guest Speaker Jason Mahlke posited the future life work of several students and reminded the seniors, “If you know you KNOW there is always more to question and always more to wonder!”
In her Senior Class Address, Emilia Viders spoke to the spirit of her class that shows up for each other. She recalled the Unified Basketball game at the most recent JayFest, and the crowd’s exuberance which had nothing to do with winning but everything to do with celebrating each other’s effort and joy.
Superintendent Ray Blanch and Dr. Siciliano presented the diplomas to all 229 graduates, beginning with Brooke D’Aleo – a member of the Class of 2025 who passed away last June – whose diploma was received by her younger sister, Paige.
The cheering didn’t stop for a full 25 minutes—30, if you count the tassel flip!
Congratulations to the Class of 2025! You will be missed, and we wish you all the best!
