Another Successful Sustainability Showcase 🌱🌎

On Tuesday evening, the district celebrated its sustainability progress and goals with student projects, examples of energy savings across the district, and even a tour on board one of the district’s electric buses.

Elementary school Green Teams showed off their efforts and older students shared research projects. These initiatives focused on recycling and waste reduction, protecting wildlife and habitats, and the impact of everyday choices on the environment, along with ecosystem models and builds created from reused materials. Our community partners joined the conversation with displays and a Q&A panel, highlighting conservation efforts, wildlife education, and sustainable practices.

Students in the Earth Rise Club at John Jay High School welcomed Healthy Yards for a look at sustainable lawn care 🌎🌱
They explored how small, everyday choices at home can make a real environmental impact by supporting pollinators, planting more native plants, and improving lawn care through less leaf blowing and more mulch mowing.
