We are excited to announce the launch of the KLSD 3-Year Sustainability Vision and Plan. We have been hard at work designing the plan since the announcement of the initiative during the sustainability presentation at the Board of Education (BOE) meeting last April.
A group of district administrators, our instructional coach for sustainability, curriculum integration leaders and various KLSD K-12 faculty members worked with sustainability expert and longtime KLSD consultant Cheney Munson* on a plan that will guide KLSD deliberately and systematically in continuing our innovative work in sustainability both in our facilities and our curriculum.
The plan was reviewed in its development stages by KLSD Administrators, districtwide curriculum leaders and liaisons, the BOE Sustainability Committee, leaders of our KLSD Green Teams, and members of our Sustainability in our Schools Committee. These dedicated KLSD community members provided valuable feedback.
We hope you will take some time to visit the website to see how far we have come over the past decade, how we are leading in sustainability efforts in New York State, and how we plan to further excel in this area over the course of the next three years.
